Cookies

TH3SIS sets two cookies. Both are necessary for the site to do what you asked it to. There are no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, and no third-party trackers.
What is set
| Cookie | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
sb-…-auth-token | Keeps you signed in. Without it you would have to enter your password on every page. | Until you sign out |
th3sis-theme | Remembers whether you chose light or dark, so the page does not flash the wrong one while it loads. | One year |
th3sis_mc | Only when you sign up with Google: carries your answer to the email checkbox through Google’s sign-in and back, so it can be saved on your new account. Read once and deleted straight away. | Ten minutes at most |
Why there is no cookie banner
UK law requires your consent before setting cookies that are not strictly necessary — advertising, analytics, and most embedded third-party content. It does not require consent for cookies without which the service cannot work, and a login session is the textbook example.
Since TH3SIS sets nothing beyond those two, there is nothing to ask you about. A banner here would be asking permission for tracking that does not happen, which is not a courtesy — it is misleading.
If that ever changes — if TH3SIS adds analytics to understand which pages are read — this page will say so before it happens, and you will be asked properly, with declining made exactly as easy as accepting.
Your privacy choices
Because there are no optional cookies, there is nothing to switch off here. What you can do:
- Block cookies in your browser. TH3SIS will still load, but you will not be able to stay signed in.
- Sign out, which removes the session cookie immediately.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or its deletion — see the privacy notice, which covers everything TH3SIS holds about you, not only cookies.
What this is not
TH3SIS does not sell personal data, does not run advertising, and does not share your activity with ad networks or data brokers. There is no business model here that depends on it: members pay for the product.
